Community at Northwood

At Northwood Cottage School, community is built through daily relationships, shared experiences, and meaningful participation in school life. Our intentionally small environment allows students, teachers, and families to know one another well, creating a strong sense of connection across the school community. We believe children learn best when they feel known, valued, and supported within a collaborative learning environment.

School Traditions

Throughout the year, Northwood families come together for traditions that strengthen relationships and celebrate school life. Friday Family Picnics, Back-to-School Pizza Night, Ice Cream Socials, Family Game Night, student showcases, and seasonal celebrations create opportunities for connection beyond the classroom. These shared experiences help build the close-knit community that is central to the Northwood experience.

Family Partnership

We value strong partnerships between school and home and believe open communication is an important part of supporting student growth. Families are encouraged to participate in school events, traditions, and community experiences throughout the year. At Northwood, parents, teachers, and students work together to create a thoughtful, supportive learning environment where children can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
