Northwood Cottage School is an independent, coeducational kindergarten through fifth grade school in Houston, Texas. At NCS, we value academic excellence and a love of learning. We prioritize the education of the whole child, offering a personalized approach that ensures every student receives the support and challenges needed to thrive. To support this philosophy, we offer multi-age classrooms and whole-school focus on knowledge-building studies. 

Through our Foundations block, Northwood Cotttage School provides a rigorous academic base through in-depth instruction in reading, language arts, and mathematics in grade-banded small groups. This work establishes a strong base for our Explorations curriculum, project-based thematic units, centered on science and social studies, that encourage collaborative learning within mixed-age groups. Complementing our core academic subjects, NCS students receive regular  instruction in Spanish, yoga, visual art, physical education, and social-emotional skills.
